Roger Dale Bain

Mr. Bain was born Wednesday, July 19, 1944, in his parents home, to the late Henry Thurston and Louise Woodruff Bain in Leedy, Mississippi. Mr. Bain married the late Peggy Ann Norman on Saturday, June 8, 1963, in Jacinto, Mississippi. Mr. Bain was a retired Industrial Supplies Salesman for Corinth Machinery, Lewis Supply and his own company, RDB Machinery. Mr. Bain attended Jacinto School and graduated from Alcorn Central High School, served as an Alcorn County School Board member in the 70's, served as a Member of the Governor's Staff, and also served as President of Yellow Creek Port.

Mr. Bain was a faithful member of Love Joy Baptist Church, where he was deeply loved and appreciated. He filled the church with love, wisdom, and cared for those in it. Mr. Bain loved ballgames with his children and grandchildren. He loved gardening, fishing, and hunting. Roger enjoyed listening to Bluegrass music and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. Mr. Bain dearly loved fish fry's, homemade ice cream and Dolly Parton.

Mr. Bain will especially be remembered for the love of his family. He faithfully attended every event possible of his children and grandchildren. They loved and trusted their "Daddy", "Poppa", and "Uncle Rod" in all situations. He was their inspiration, encourager, and Earthly Guide.

Mr. Bain is preceded into death by his wife, Peggy Norman Bain; and his parents.

Mr. Bain is survived by two daughters; Charlette Foster (Rick) and Christy McKee (JR); one son, Dale Bain (Cindy); six grandchildren, Toni Steele, Trae Bain (Caitlin), Katie Wright (Forrest), Gwyn Foster (Fiance' Jared Arnold), Justin Mills (Kelsey) and Jordan Mills (Ariana), two great grandchildren, Natali and Big Leo Mills; two brothers, Jimmy Bain (Tracy) and Tommy Bain (Patricia); one sister, Deanna Grisham (Wayne); one good friend, Jane Chastain; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service held at McPeters Funeral Directors Inc. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 beginning at two o'clock in the afternoon with Pastor David Robbins and Elder George Cecil Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow at Dorothy Jean Woodruff Cemetery located next to Love Joy Baptist Church.There will be a visitation for friends held Tuesday April 11, 2023 beginning at five o'clock in the afternoon until nine o'clock in the evening as well as from noon until service time on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Trae Bain, Forrest Wright, Jared Arnold, Jerry Beck, Kyle Robbins, Justin Mills, Jordan Mills and Nick Bain. Honorary pallbearers will include Keith Hardwick, Ken Hardwick, Ben Grisham, Chris Grisham and Jay Coln.
