Celebration of Life service for Lawrence Elbert “Larry” Hamlin 72, are set for 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Bostick, Bro. Ralph Culp and Bro. Lance Gargus officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Larry died March 23, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born June 11, 1946 in Alcorn Co. MS. to the late Jake and Lola Mae Hamlin. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. He was a 1964 graduate of Biggersville High School, having been known as “Punkin” in high school, he was in FFA. Larry surrender to God’s Ministry on September 27, 2004, received his licenses on June 9, 2005 and was ordained to preach on November 12, 2006. He was retired from Lowe’s, also a 32 degree Mason, member of Corinth Lodge #116. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, reading his bible, preaching and spreading the Gospel and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lois Diane Weeks Hamlin; son, William Jeffery Hamlin; parents; brother, Charles “Pete” Hamlin; father-in-law and mother-in-law; A.L. “Fate’ and Lois Steen Weeks; brother-in-law’s; Donald Weeks and Jerry Weeks.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Hamlin; daughter, Lori Ann Wood (Ronald); brother, Robert “Bob” Hamlin; sisters, Pamela Medley (Tim), Ann Faulkner (John “Bull”), Seleta Howell; grandchildren, Melissa Williams (Tim), Rhonda Markle, Amanda Lee (Arron), Elizabeth Rice, Victoria Nulph, Nicole Crum (Hunter); great grandchildren, Madison Butler, Skylar Butler, Harley Markle, Dakota Markle, Killian Rice, Linnan Lee, Conner Crum, Taylor Crum; great great grandchild, Journey Lagunes; special friend, Shirley Bradley; host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers Bro. Eddie Martin, Hunter Crum, Donnie Wilson, Arron Lee, Ronald Wood, Stephen Hamlin, Melvin Patrick, George Martin, David Wilson, Robert “Bob” Hamlin.
A receiving of family and friends for Larry will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday from 2:00 PM until service time at Memorial Funeral Home.
