Private family service for Elsie Marie Clark, 85, will be held Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow in Magnolia Gardens. Rev. Nelson Hight will officiate the services. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home.
Ms. Elsie died on April 22, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Corinth on February 27, 1936 to the late Gilbert Columbus and Vivian Wardlow Jones. She was a graduate of Corinth High School and was of the Methodist faith. She retired after 37 years with ITT and later worked almost 15 years at the Dinner Bell. She loved to crochet and bake. Ms. Elsie was probably best known for her pocket angels that she made and gave to people in honor of her late son.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Thompson of Corinth; grandchildren, Jason Thompson (Haylee) of Lebanon, TN, Tara Mathis (Wesley) of Corinth, Daniel Owen Clark III (Stephanie) of Lexington, TN, Shana Clark Duke (Brian) of Lexington, TN, Ashley Clark of Adamsville, TN, and Stephen Clark (Chelsie) of Lexington, TN; great-grandchildren, Anna Belle Thompson, McKenzie Thompson, Adelyn Mathis, Tenley Mathis, Hannah Clark, Dayne Clark, Ella Grace Clark, Braylon Clark, Alayna Clark, Dani Duke, Jesi Duke, and Bella Bodine; brother, Jerry Jones (Judy) of Forrest City, NC; sister, Shelby Page of Burnsville; sister-in-laws, Nell Jones and Roma Jones; daughter-in-law, Lisa Clark Taylor (Brent) of Jackson, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel "Danny" Owen Clark, Jr.; brothers, Raymond, Wesley, Earl, Buddy, and Perry Jones; and sisters, Wanda Williamson and Brenda Triplett.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Mathis, Daniel Clark, Jason Thompson, Dayne Clark, Brian Duke and Brent Taylor.
