Funeral services for Elbie Lee Coleman, 87, are set for 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January, 19, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Brady and Bro. Ralph Culp officiating. Burial will be in the Tuscumbia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Coleman died on Monday, January 17, 2011 at her residence. She was born on Saturday, October 28, 1922 to the late Bruce and Myrtle Nichols. During her life, she was a former school teacher who taught in an one room school, she owned and operated Home Furniture for 17 years and was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends, lived life to the fullest and was always positive and joking.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Coleman; two brothers, Leonard and A.B. Nichols; and four sisters, Stella Dixon, Opal Bell, Gladys Bass, Tynce Hopper.
She is survived by her son, Kenny Wayne Coleman; one daughter, Sherra Potts and her husband Curtis; one sister, Ruby Odle; three grandchildren, Tera Lee Coleman, Jesse Potts and Tana Potts Heavener; one great-grandchild, Coleman Reed Heavner, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. and from 11:00 A.M. till service time on Wednesday.
