A Celebration of Life Service for Dimple Delilah Bates, 84 will be held 4:30 pm Monday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. James Voyles and Bro. Craig Wilbanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Jacinto Cemetery. Visitation will start at 2:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
Dimple died Saturday, October 1, 2022 at her residence in Jacinto. She was born October 3, 1937 in Tishomingo Co. MS to the late Lee and Georgia Burcham Voyles. She worked outside the home in the sewing and manufacturing industry, but being a wife and mother were her favorite jobs. She enjoyed sitting on the porch, admiring the flowers, game shows and spending time with family and friends, especially those grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harley Bates; daughter, Sandra Crum; brothers, Leland, Leroy, Willie, Charles, Bobby, Leon and Donald Voyles; and a sister, Ila V. Jackson.
She is survived by one brother, Billy Joe Voyles; daughters, Charlotte Carter (Ted) and Carolyn Davis; grandchildren, Amy Williams (Jeff), Chasity Taylor (Dan), Nikki Woodruff (Brad), Chad Taylor (Lisa), April Cowperthwait (Mike), Amanda Arnold, Melissa Haynie and William Davis; and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, family and friends.
Pallbearers are Jayce Haynie, Drake Williams, Jackson Davis, Aaron Taylor, Tony Voyles, and Donald Voyles.
