O'Connor, William Walter "Bill", 83, of Parkland, went to be with the Lord May 18, 2020. Bill was born February 10, 1937 in Chicago, IL to the late Walter and Catherine (McGee) O'Connor. He earned a degree in physics at St. Mary's University in Minnesota, a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and his MBA from Loyola in Chicago. Bill met his wife, Theresa "Terry" on a blind date and got married in 1964. They have six children and twelve grandchildren ranging in age from 1 year to 30 years. They had a beautiful life together until Terry passed away in 1995. Bill worked at Motorola for over 30 years in research and development and management. While at Motorola, he earned several patents in the development of two way radios and worked his way up in the company. Avery interesting thin that Bill was able to do while working at Motorola was to tour the underground at Disney World. One of the many "neat" things about his work was that he had a radio that was able to call a land line before cell phones were available. Before his stroke, Bill would ride his bike to Mass every morning. He enjoyed riding his bike, hiking, fishing and reading his engineering magazines. He has always prided himself as being up on current events. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Catherine (Albert) D'Agostino, Joseph O'Connor, Patricia (Eric) Intihar, Margaret Spanks, William O'Connor, Edward (Dee) O'Connor. grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney Tverberg) D'Agostino, Marnie (Shane) McMahon, Eric D'Agostino, Jenna D'Agostino, Emily Intihar, Katelyn Intihar, Abigail Intihar, Brady Spanks, Kyle Spanks, Claire O'Connor, Holly O'Connor and Danny O'Connor. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2020, 5:00 -8:00pm at Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1655 University Drive, Coral Springs. Due to Covid-19, visitation will be limited to 50 people at a time. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Saturday, May 23, 2020, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 9950 NW 29 Street, Coral Springs, social distancing must be followed. Interment to immediately follow Mass.
