Ann (Nancy) Sophia Schneider

Nancy completed her high school education and went on to work in different roles in the insurance industry. Her last job was as a legal secretary at Duran Claim Service in Mineola, NY.

She met her husband, Robert (Bob) Schneider, while in high school, and they got married in February 1954. The couple purchased their first home in Levittown, NY, and had their only child, Jody, the following year.

Nancy and Bob retired to Tamarac, Florida, (like all good New Yorkers) and embraced the 55+ community lifestyle. They joined clubs, danced, attended shows, and traveled to different parts of the United States, the Caribbean, and beyond. Although Nancy was an avid reader of all things in print, she preferred spy novels, Stephen King, and historical fiction. Her favorite trip of all was their cruise to Alaska.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, and sister, Joan. She is survived by her daughter, Jody, and many nieces and nephews.

Due to failing health, Nancy moved to the Sunshine Assisted Living Facility, where she passed away after a brief illness. The family extends their gratitude to the kind and caring staff at Sunshine ALF and the continuous care nurses of VITAS hospice.

A funeral service for Nancy will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 6200 N. University Dr., Tamarac, FL 33321.
