Mr. Robert Clark Thomas

The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. Monday, October, 18, 2010 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Copperas Cove with Father Jim Robertson as celebrant. Interment services will follow with military honors at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

In place of usual remembrances the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Copperas Cove, 1306 South FM 116, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522 or to the Holy Family Catholic Church Food Pantry, 1001 Georgetown Road, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522 .

Clark was born December 15, 1939 in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas to Robert Clarke Thomas and Willet Mary (Latal) Thomas.

After the completion of high school he attended Hastings College before entering the United State Army. While serving he received the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal for his service in the Vietnam War. After retirement he completed his undergraduate work at Central Texas College and received his Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Mary Hardin Baylor, he was a teacher for Killeen ISD, Copperas Cove ISD, the University of Central Texas and Tarleton State University.

Clark enjoyed fishing, collecting guns, painting, wood working and traveling.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Copperas Cove and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he has lived in Copperas Cove since 1978.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, H. Theresa Thomas in 1995.

Clark is survived by his wife of twelve years, Patricia Thomas of Copperas Cove; a son, Steve Thomas and his wife Lorraine of Corinth, TX; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Thomas and Ryan Thomas; two step sons, a step daughter and two step grandchildren.
