She was born in Lubbock, Texas on November 8, 1961 and raised by her grandparents Mohalia and Robert Glen Brewster in Mercers Gap, Texas.
Marquette and Stephen Meyer were married on September 1, 1991 in Houston, Texas. Marquette and Stephen met at a quaint restaurant called Tumbleweeds, and they were married for 33 years.
Marquette had the pleasure of working for the Lampasas Independent School District, elementary through middle school for 10 years.
Marquette was so talented. For many years she would help with sewing projects, including sewing outfits for her daughter’s clogging performances. She sewed many patches on letterman jackets for students who attended Lampasas and the surrounding schools.
Marquette loved doing things with her daughters- from leading Girl Scouts, shopping, clogging at the Riverwalk in San Antonio to traveling to Washington DC, three times, with her oldest daughter, Amber.
In September of 2009 Marquette and Stephen began their business adventure together starting up M&M Deer processing, which exponentially grew to be a thriving business to include M&M Butcher shop, Custom Slaughter, and Taxidermy. Marquette truly loved all of her customers who came into the shop and she prided herself on the level of customer service she provided to each and everyone who entered.
Marquette and Stephen loved their family and any time they were able to be together with their kids and grandchildren. They enjoyed traveling, especially in what Marquette called her “Sunday House”, which was their camper. They took many camping and boating trips. Marquette and Stephen also traveled to the Riviera Maya for their 25th wedding anniversary and recently they took a trip to Alaska because Marquette was fascinated by moose and she wanted to see one for herself.
Marquette served God in many ways. She was never above putting anyone else’s needs above her own. She was truly the giving kind of woman. She was a loving mother, sister, wife, and friend.
Marquette was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Mohalia and Robert Glen Brewster, and daughter Mohalia Brewster.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen; a brother, Robert Brewster; a son, Glen Meyer; two daughters, Amber Schneider who is married to Jermery Schneider, and Victoria Meyer; and four grandchildren, Lynn and Glen Jr Meyer and Aubrey and Rachael Schneider as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation for Marquette will be held at The Community Church of Lampasas on Tuesday November 19th at 10am followed immediately by a Funeral Service at 11am. A Private family graveside will be held at a later time.
Pallbearers will be Robert Brewster, Joe Herring Jr, Michael Meyer, Jermery Schneider, Scott King, and Taylor Kelley.
