Leonardo Orona was born in Crystal City, TX on August 17, 1947, to Leonardo and Lucia Orona. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Marines. He served in Vietnam where he was injured during the Tet Offensive. Leonard received a Purple Heart for his actions.
After the Marines, Leonard served in the US Army, serving during Operation Desert Storm. In his 20 years of service, Leonard served his country proudly and retired from the Army in 1992.
Leonard married his wife of 48 years in Minnesota on September 12, 1970. He is survived by his wife, Catherine, and four children: Rebecca, Shawn and his wife, Katie, Jennifer, and Robert. Leonard was the proud Papaw to six grandchildren.
Leonard was deeply loved and will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
