Ethel Johnson

Ethel graduated from Clover Park High school in Tacoma, WA in 1962. She married Willie Preston Johnson, Jr. “the love of her life and her soulmate”, on August 14, 1964 in Tacoma, WA, while Willie was stationed at Fort Lewis. Their love and devotion to each other lasted for 57 years.

Spending time with family was the most important thing in Ethel’s life. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was also an avid crafter and loved jewelry making. Ethel was an inspiration to so many and touched so many lives with her loving and caring nature.

Ethel leaves to cherish her memory, Son Willie Preston Johnson, III (Leatrice), Daughters, Angela Louise Johnson Mars (Linton), and Stefanie Marie Johnson Boodoo (Brent), and Amil Marie Johnson. Mother-in-law, Bertha McCoy Johnson. Grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Nicholas Mars, Jasmine Johnson, Alexis Mars, Sajjon Boodoo (Cheyanne), Jordan Johnson, Oni Boodoo, Preston Mars, Sri Boodoo, Great-grandchildren, Journei Moore, Je’Preston Johnson, Jadice McDonald, Jayce Johnson, Jonah Johnson, Jalayah Johnson, Jaxx Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Passing before Ethel are her Husband Willie Preston Johnson, Jr., Son Marcus Charles Johnson, Father, Henry Charles Grossley, Mother Mary Louise Grossley, Granddaughters Jeanette Michele Johnson, and Jewell Mariah Johnson. Although Ethel is gone, her memory and love will remain with us always.

A Private Family Visitation for Ethel will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Crawford-Bowers, 211 W Ave B, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522. An Inurnment Service will occur Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas 76542.
