Charles Russell Turbeville, age 66, of Copperas Cove, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023. He was born in Charleston, SC, the only son of Ernest Turbeville and Joyce Gayle Roberts.
Charles met and married Brenda Kay King while working at the Air Traffic Control school at Fort Rucker, AL. Charles served in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring as a First Sergeant (E-8) in 1995. He taught for the Killeen Independent School District for 26 years in Killeen retiring in 2021. He joined the Texas State Guard in 2013 and retired as the Command Sergeant Major for the Texas State Guard in 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Turbeville and Joye Gayle Roberts. Survivors include his wife, Brenda; sons, Adam and William; and daughter, Megan.
A visitation at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home for Charles will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
