Vera was born in Ft. Scott, KS to J. Fred and Vera Strong True. She was raised in Topeka, KS from the age of 2 years old. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1961. She attended Kansas State University and graduated in 1965 with a B.S. in Home Economics. She worked for 2 years for the Kansas Extension service as a Home Economics agent.
She married her college sweetheart, Ron White in 1964. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. To that union were born 3 children, Cheri Lynn, Terry Curtis, and Jennifer Sue. Jennifer was stillborn on February 18, 1973. Vera spent her time as a homemaker and volunteered in numerous roles at her church, Brownie Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, and other community activities. She was a loving, faithful and prayerful Mom to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was the most loving and supportive companion for her husband, Ron, ever.
She and Ron together belonged to Gideon's International and Men for Mission Council in Northeast Kansas. Together they participated in 3 work mission trips, building churches in Haiti, a house for a new missionary in Ecuador, and a building for a camp in Spain.
They also served on Campus Crusade staff, Jesus film project doing administrative work to support the translators in the field. The film has now been translated into 1900 languages. During this time they participated in a mission trip to Siberia and a trip to Mexico to show the film.
She later served as a secretary at Woodland Park Community Church in Woodland Park, CO.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer of Glen Elder, KS, her brother James True of Richardson, TX, and her sister Ida True of Topeka, KS. She is survived by her husband Ron; her children Cheri and David Hudspith of Flower Mound, TX; Terry and Leah White of Dawson, MN. Her four grandchildren, CJ and Ashley White of Norwood Young America, MN, Megan and Joe Florestano of Duluth, MN, Emily and Grant Borndal of Duluth, MN, Matt and Jordan Hudspith of Richardson, TX, her 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Fred True, of Kansas City, MO.
