Ryan was born July 22, 2000 in Irving TX to Joe and Robin Rutherford.
Ryan attended Lee and Austin Elementary, Coppell Middle School East and Coppell High School. He briefly attended Oklahoma City University and earned an Associate’s Degree from North Lake Community College. He was working on his bachelor’s degree at the University of North Texas-Frisco campus.
Like most young adults, Ryan worked a hand full of part-time jobs. In Fall of 2019 he started working at Cava in Legacy West. He was promoted to General Manger in Training. He absolutely loved working there.
Ryan played baseball from 1st through 9th grade. He loved the sport; he was born into a baseball family. The Rangers were his first love, but he also was an avid Mavericks, Stars and RoughRiders fan. He would often go to random mid-week Frisco Roughrider games. He “tortured” several friends into going to games.
As a Freshman in High School, he earned a spot in the Take One Theatre Class at Coppell High School. He quickly became the “Lighting Guy.” From 9th grade through his graduation he was either the light board operator or lighting designer for all the Main Stage and Black Box productions. He really enjoyed the UIL competition. His Junior Year the UIL show was Picnic. He was extremely proud to be part of that cast and crew.
Ryan was baptized and received first communion at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Coppell. He liked working the Pumpkin Patch and was a camp counselor at Vacation Bible School for 3 summers.
Ryan is survived by his parents Joe and Robin Rutherford of Coppell, TX. His Grandmother, Betty Rutherford of Irving, TX. His Uncle and Aunt Jay and Jenni Rutherford of Murchison, TX. His Uncle and Aunt, Kenny and Donna Penninger of Concord NC. Cousins Matt Penninger of Charlotte NC, Nate Penninger of Mt. Pleasant NC, Jennifer Rutherford of Plano TX, Justin Rutherford of Irving, TX.
