Gracykutty K Varghese

Gracykutty Varghese ( affectionately called Gracy mama or Gracy ) daughter of the late Pastor E J . Oommen and the late Rachel Oommen , Edathundiyil Beulah Bhavan was born on December 10, 1952 in Othera, Kerala India. She was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday , February 25, 2023 at the age of 70.

Gracy and her siblings were raised in a God fearing home by her loving parents. She is the third of 10 children and was a loving sibling to all her brothers and sisters. She came to know the Lord and accepted Jesus as her savior at a very young age. Born and raised in Kerala she went on to pursue a nursing degree in SNDT College in Bombay. After completion of her degree, she moved to Kuwait for better career opportunities and she met and married her husband George K Varghese (Johnikutty) in October 1981 They had their two daughters while in Kuwait and remained there until 1990 when they immigrated to the United States. They settled in the New York area where they raised their two daughters to know and love the Lord. In 2014 both Gracy and Johnikutty moved to Southlake Texas to spend their retirement closer to their daughters and their families Gracy was an active member of India Pentecostal Assembly in Irving Texas and former church India Christian Assembly in New York. Gracy was a devoted wife and loving and caring mother and grandmother, sister and friend. She was known for her joyous smile and sociability and above all her faith and hope in the Lord. She was the matriarch of our family and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Especially by her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Ammachi”.

She is preceded in death by her parents Pr. E.J. Oommen and Rachel Oommen and her brother Jose Oommen.

She is survived by her beloved husband, George K. Varghese; daughters Vincey Varughese and Jessie Varghese; sons in law Philip C. Varughese and Shawn Varghese; grandchildren Grace & Lillian; Lana, Lael, Ellis and Le eya , sisters Marykutty, Valsa, Mercy, Blossom , G lory ; brothers Sam, Finny, Roy; their spouses and her many nieces and nephews.
