Ann Gehring, resident of Coppell, TX, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, was called home to Our Lord on February 26, 2018 at the age of 79. She was born in Cleveland on December 24, 1938 to Andrew and Ann (nee Olejnyik) Guschwan, and grew up in Parma, OH. She was the second oldest of eight children. Educated in Cleveland at St. Charles Borromeo elementary, Lourdes Academy, and St. John College, Ann obtained a degree in education and taught elementary school for 10 years. Afterwards she lived for a brief time in Colorado before marrying and raising a family in Lodi, OH. She loved God, her family, and teaching (and coffee). She was strongly devoted to the Catholic faith. She had a special love for all children and was actively involved in the Pro-Life movement.
She is survived by her stepchildren Terri Harris, Jim (Beth) Gehring, John (Liz) Gehring, Tim (Karen) Gehring and Paul (Barbara) Gehring, and children Dan (Diane) Gehring, Sarah (Chris) Meyer, Beth (Joseph) Rodriguez, and George Gehring. She treasured all her grandchildren: Rob, Nicholle, Kecia, Alex, Kasinee, Nola, Monica, Patrick, Ryan, Isabella, Gavin, David, Michael, Charlie, Johnny, Angela, and Abigail. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Dr. Andy (Barb) Guschwan, Jean (Dick) Patterson, George (Anne) Guschwan, Mary McBarron, Betty (Joe) Pitstick, and Susan Joy (Roy) Van Keuren along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard Gehring, her parents, and her sister Frances Simecek.
The family will greet friends at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home, 400 Freeport Pkwy in Coppell, TX on Thursday, March 1 from 5-7 pm. There will be a Rosary from 5:00 to 5:15 to begin the visitation. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 2 at 10:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, 180 Samuel Blvd in Coppell, TX. Msgr. Henry Petter will preside. There will be a reception immediately following.
