Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, April 13, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 615 North MacArthur Blvd in Coppell, TX, with President Brian J. Willey, Presiding. Burial will follow at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center. (Address on this website.)
Andre’ was born in Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurtenberg, Germany to Rudolph Lindberg Jones and Else Otelia Kehrer on July 6, 1959. He married Gwen Grayson on August 14, 1993 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and they became an eternal family on June 6, 2008 when they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Andre’ went to high school at the American High School in Karlsruhe, Germany, graduating in 1977. In 1981 he graduated from ITT Technical Institute and worked as a computer technician and field engineer for Prime Computer and Intergraph Corporation for nearly 20 years.
Andre’ played soccer at a championship level throughout his teen years in Germany and as an adult in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He also excelled in high school football and basketball and loved playing pick-up basketball games for as long as he was able. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he taught in the Primary organization (children ages 3 – 12) for many years - the children he taught still adore him. He was an avid investor in the stock market and enjoyed playing board games (especially Monopoly) with family and friends. He was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys and an enthusiastic and steadfast fan of Germany’s soccer team in the World Cup.
Andre’ is preceded in death by his mother, Else, his father, Rudolph and his step-father, Joe L. Morris.
Andre’ is survived by his wife, Gwen, his son Ryan Andre’ Jones and his half-brother, Rudolph L. Jones, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Jones, Bill Cangelosi, Brigham Au, Trevor Scofield, James Ross and Marcus Cunningham.
Memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Gwen and Ryan wish to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Nina Cahan, Dr. Henry Raroque, the Elders Quorum of the Coppell Third Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the loving staff of Sage Oaks Residential Care Homes, Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Care, Bill and Olivia Cangelosi and the countless others who have cared for and supported their family over the years.
