Ralph, known as "Raci" to all who loved him, was born on Long Island in Amityville, to his parents, Ascanio and Nancy Ippolito. He grew up in Copiague, graduating from Copiague High School in 1985. He found his passion in the construction industry, becoming a specialist in interior and exterior doors.
Raci is known as a hard-working man, who adored his two boys. They were his life and he put them over everything else. Both Nico and Gino brought memories of accompanying their Dad to work, where Nico helped him in the construction business on jobs. Gino, who calls his Dad his best friend, remembers him for out-of-state basketball trips. As a kid himself, Raci loved pretty much all sports, and as his boys grew up, he became a coach for their teams. He also enjoyed boating and motorcycles. His boy describe him as 'crazy, funny, and quite a character of his own'.
He is survived by his beloved family - his cherished sons, Nico and Gino; his mother, Nancy; his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Lillian; his sister, CarolAnn; his nieces, Lisa Ippolito and Lauren Ippolito and his nephew, Andre Torres. Predeceasing him is his father, Ascanio.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 11th from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. During the evening hours, the Catholic Wake Service will be offered at 8:00 p.m. by Deacon Phil Mills. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12th, at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption RC Church in Copiague. Cremation is private.
