Phyllis A. Erickson

Phyllis Ann Erickson, middle of three daughters, also known as Fay Erickson, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023, in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, at the age of 81. She was born on November 2, 1942, in Parkers Prairie, MN, to her parents, the late Alois Frank Vorgert and Norma Stella Vorgert. Phyllis will be remembered for her faith, family devotion, unwavering kindness and generosity.

She was preceded in death by Tootsie Stroh, her sister; Todd Sodren, infant son; Cheri Johnson, granddaughter. She is survived by husband, Roger Erickson; children: Shawn & Lindsay Sodren, Chad & Cynthia Sodren, Tina & Todd Lesetmoe, Tammy Vatta, Ken & Vickie Erickson, Kim and Gary Nelson; along with 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; plus many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis obtained her higher education at Northwestern College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Administration and graduated Magna Cum Laude. At the same time, she worked at Medtronic as an administrative assistant for Chemical Technologies. Her dedication and hard work made her a vital part of the company for 17 years.

In her free time, Phyllis enjoyed sewing, genealogy, organizing, and embarking on a few adventures with her beloved husband. These activities brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity and love for exploration.

Phyllis was a member of Emmanuel Christian Center, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Her connection to her place of worship provided her with a sense of community and support.

Phyllis was very loved and will be missed terribly. If you would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to attend the memorial service we are holding in her honor. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Gearhart Funeral Chapel, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN. Visitation at noon, funeral service at 1pm, followed by burial service at Morningside Memorial Gardens.
