Age 91, of Coon Rapids
Passed away peacefully on July 23, 2020
Born April 30, 1929 to Floyd and Evelyn (Anderson) Godel.
Joyce attended Warren public schools. Following graduation, she attended the Teacher Training Class in Warren and taught at the rural school in Luna for two years. She went to Moorhead State, and then taught at Twin Valley, Minnesota for one year.
In June 1952, she married Morris Lindstrom of Osakis, Minnesota. In December of 1952, they made their home in Coon Rapids where they raised their family.
Joyce was a “stay-at-home” Mom during the years her children were growing up. She taught piano lessons during that time. Joyce and Morris did a lot of camping and traveling in the summer months. When their daughter was in high school, she began working part-time for a typing service at the University of Minnesota, typing Ph.D’s, term papers and resumes for students. At the same time, she was the church secretary, typing the weekly bulletin, newsletter, etc. Gradually that job increased to include computer work (recording contributions, printing checks and accounting). Joyce retired on April 30, 1997. The two most important things in Joyce’s life were her family and her faith. She loved spending time with her children, her grandchildren and eventually her great grandchildren. After they both were retired, Joyce and Morris were almost inseparable. They were even roommates in the different care centers they lived in until Morris’ death. Joyce was a very faith filled woman and never strayed in her relationship with Jesus. Today she is in the arms of her loving Heavenly Father.
Preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Morris; son, David; brother, Duane (Georgie); sister, Shirley (Jim).
Joyce will be deeply missed by her children, Joel (Barbara Kaufman), Paul, Miriam (Dave) Erickson; daughter-in-law, Shari; Grandchildren, Russell (Joy), Corey (Sarah), Marty (Kelly), Leon (Nichele), May (Robert), Jennie (Matt), Jodi, Roger, Alanna, Kyra, Matt, Jason, Andrew (Alex), Sam; Great-Grandchildren, Arden, Nolan, Bjorn, Henrik, Adam, Jack, Ryan, Beckham, George, Samuel, Talia, Sterling, Hudson, Judah, Emmy; sister, Myrna (Fred) Super; and loving relatives & friends.
