Gary Albert Hill

Gary was born in Peeksville, WI, son of Albert and Evelyn Hill. After high school, Gary worked at a fish pole factory and in the woods chopping trees. He then came to Minneapolis to work at Coast to Coast before being drafted into the Army where he was stationed in Germany. Gary met his wife of 56 years, JoAnn Rick, on a blind date. Together they raised their two children and spent countless hours with their grandsons. Gary was a beloved member of Way of the Lord Church. His faith in God was evident in the kindness he showed to everyone he met.

Gary drove semi-truck for Coca-Cola for 36 years. He enjoyed being outdoors spending time with family and friends while hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and the many camping and road trips. Gary’s favorite past-time was small engine repair. There wasn’t a broken engine he couldn’t fix.

Gary’s family knew him for his kindness, and he will be remembered for his smile, laughter, and witty jokes. Gary will be greatly missed by his wife, JoAnn; children Kerry (Jim) Rankin, Kentin (Shawna) Hill; grandsons Jacob, Trevor, and Kyle; sister Sharon Zielke; brother Raymond Hill and many more family and friends.

Service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Way of the Lord Church, 804 131st Ave. NE, Blaine, MN 55434. Visitation at 10:00 AM, Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM. Luncheon to follow.

Burial service to be held on Monday, July 1st at 11:00 AM at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
