Irene Newman Jenkins

Irene Jenkins died on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at age 86 at home in the care of her loving family and hospice. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Horis A. Ward’s Rockdale Chapel, with Rev. Reese Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Gardens in Forest Park.

Irene is survived by her husband, James Jenkins; daughter, Janice Vernon; son and daughter-in law, Lamar and Pat Vernon; sister, Louise Ivey; brother, Hubert Newman; stepdaughters, Leanne Porter and Donna Malcolm; stepson, Ronald Jenkins; and was a very loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Charlie Vernon and 7 siblings.
