Emma Angeline Dougherty, 87 of Conway, AR passed away on April 28th 2018. She was born April 17th 1931 in Roe, AR to Franklin and ruby Draper. She retired from Kimberly Clark. Emma was a kind, gentle, and caring person who loved God, her family, and everything in nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, her husband, Paul Dougherty and son Frank Dougherty.
She is survived by one son Steve Dougherty, two very close granddaughters Ashton Elliott (Michael) and Misty Dougherty, great granddaughter Antheia Jones, friend and former daughter-in-law Pam Dougherty, and sister-in-law Flodine Beatty, all of Conway, and stepdaughter Ayne McGarity of North Carolina.
She is also survived by 3grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition, she is survived by her adopted family Rhonda and Cecil Butts and family who invited “Ms. Emma” into their home four years ago and cared for her lovingly and tirelessly with such care, compassion, respect, and dignity.
She also leaves behind a dear and caring friend, Ms. Mae McDaniel. We have a deep gratitude to all of them for their unconditional love for Emma.
Also, a special thank you to her Arkansas Hospice family for all of their care and support during this time.
Arrangements are made by Griffin Leggett in Conway. Services will be held on Wednesday May 2nd at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery following services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s foundation or a charity of your choice.
