From an early age, she developed a love for music and dancing. Her brother, Miguel, being a local musician sparked the passion that remained throughout her life. While in high school, Teresa began working at FW Woolworth, where she worked as a valued employee for over 20 years, making very special lifelong friendships. After raising her children, she attended Laredo Junior College, where she studied child development and soon after became a Head Start teacher. Teresa continued her passion of working with children in Austin, Texas. There, she became a Licensed Day Care Home Teacher, caring for her grandchildren, Michael and Cristina, and several of the children of her daughter, Grace's friends.
Since a young age, Teresa loved to travel. As a teenager she loved frequently visiting her older sister, Lupe's family in Mexico as well as her younger sister, Concha's family in California. Following retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with her sisters and friends. After her sister, Concha, returned from California to San Antonio, her sister's home became the social gathering for family events. This is where the "Golden Girls" (Teresa, her sister, Concha Rodela and her niece, Rosie Vasquez) would frequently have slumber parties and enjoy playing games, listening to music and watching movies together. Teresa was very competitive—whether it was playing Lotería (Mexican Bingo), card games, dominoes or winning Halloween costume contests at the senior Friendship Center in the Woodlands. She looked forward to dressing up every Halloween and was very proud when she won first place several years in a row. Teresa loved spending time with her large extended family, never missing special family events. Whether it was a baptism, birthday, graduation or wedding, Teresa wanted to be present. Most recently, she developed special relationships with residents and staff at the Woodlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Teresa maintained her strong Faith throughout her life. She was active in the Cursillo Movement in Laredo and was a Guadalupana at St Williams Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas. Prior to her failing health, she was active in the Cornerstone Bible Study and was a chartered member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas® at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in the Woodlands.
Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, Victoria Rodriguez and Domingo Mejia; her husband, Pablo E Ramos and husband, Joe Clark; her son, Pablo Ramos, Jr.; her great-granddaughter, Zelda Amirah Bridge; siblings, Guadalupe (Lupe) Vasquez, Mary Oldham, Santa Rodriguez, Concepcion (Concha) Rodela and Miguel Mejia.

The family would like to express appreciation to Oasis Hospice for the compassionate care provided to our mother, especially her nurse Hannah Benton, RN. We are also extremely grateful to the staff of The Woodlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care provided to our mother. We would especially like to recognize, her Guardian Angel on earth, Brenda Burroughs. In addition, we would like to add special thanks to her two dear friends, Pat Schwartz and Aracely Reyes, who always brightened her day with their frequent visits.
Most importantly, a million thanks to the Acosta family as our mom became part of their immediate family for over twenty years. She was treated like a queen in their loving home, and in recent years, they joined together in providing the 24-hour care our mom needed. We will forever be grateful!
We will truly miss our mother's love, laughter and joyful spirit!
