Ted grew up in Galena Park, graduating from Galena Park High School. After high school he enlisted in the United State Navy. While enlisted, Ted was a concessions coordinator, delivering supplies to other vessels and operated the ship’s radio. His time in the Navy he was able to travel to Guam and Japan. He was a member of the local VFW post #4709 in Conroe.
In his younger years he enjoyed spending time in Buffalo, Texas on his property, hunting and fishing and spending time with his bull, “T-Bone”. He eventually moved to the Montgomery area to be near his parents. He loved being with his family.
Ted worked for Bison Lumber before becoming a cross-country hot shot driver, a profession he enjoyed for many years. He played with the San Jacinto Polo Team with his trusty stead, “Trace”. He loved watching Diagnosed Murder, Walker, Texas Ranger and westerns, his favorite was Lonesome Dove.
He was an avid animal lover, especially his dogs. Ted made sure his bird feeders were full of seed and the squirrels had peanuts, every day.
Ted is survived by his daughter Kara Gonthier and her husband, Daniel. He was preceded in death by his parents Teddie and Alma.
