Stephanie Hynes, age 39, passed away on Sunday July 24, 2022, just one day shy of her 40th birthday. Steph had a courageous battle with Cancer since October of 2019. She is survived by: her two beautiful daughters, Reese Ashton Webb and Leia Mackenzie Hynes; her devoted husband, Daniel Hynes; her loving mother, Lidia Diaz; her caring aunts Rose Diaz and Rose Ann Peña; her two smelly cats, Penelope and Bella; her two brothers, Carlos Diaz and Rico Loza; and her sister, Brenda Loza. Steph is also survived by a plethora of Cousins, Nephews, and Nieces.
Steph was born on Sunday July 25, 1982, at Northwest Memorial Hospital in Houston, TX. She grew up in North Houston graduating from Klein Forest in 2000. Steph played basketball and was part of the training staff for the high school football team. Fresh out of high school, she volunteered for the United States Army where she attended boot camp only to be medically discharged. Steph worked at Sears Willowbrook from 1998 to 2006 in the sporting goods and the paint departments as a young woman. On October 19, 2002, Steph welcomed Her first little angel, Reese, into the world and found a renewed sense of purpose to her life. She moved up to management level and ran both the shoe department and later the cashier wraps during her 8 year career there. Sears is also where she met her husband to be, Daniel Hynes. Steph and Daniel were married on July 29, 2006, and welcomed their second little angel, Leia, on August 10, 2007.
After Sears, Steph found a new passion as a teacher with Wee Hearts and Kingdom Cubs. Steph’s family bought their first home in Cypress where She met numerous friends like Jackie, Donna, Vanessa, Cindy, Monica, and many others! Steph loved the holidays, birthday parties, play dates, the softball games, the volleyball games, the soccer games, the dance recitals, the choir concerts, the Girl Scout camps! She loved the sushi nights, the boba tea, the Disney trips, but most of all she loved her blue Chevy Cavalier with the custom dash!
Steph and the family moved to Conroe at the end of 2015, where Steph became a realtor and a boutique owner. However, she returned to teaching in 2016 at Crossview and then later at Grace Academy in 2019. Steph always enjoyed the kids at the daycare, especially the babies! She absolutely adored the babies. Not long after starting employment at Grace is when Steph was diagnosed with breast cancer. It broke her heart when she wasn’t able to physically care for the babies any longer and had to be moved out of that room. The directors at Grace Crossing, Tim and Becky were just amazing to Steph during the entire ordeal.
The diagnosis of Breast Cancer gave yet another purpose to Steph’s life. Steph wanted to share her story so that other women, don’t hesitate to get checked out. Steph would like the recommended age to get a mammogram to be dropped significantly. Had she had a mammogram at age 35, she may still be with us. Steph never lost her faith and has now found yet another passion, to be at our Lord’s side in Heaven.
