Oscar Hernandez Jr.

Oscar Hernandez Jr. passed away April 4, 2014 at the age of 75 in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Mary H. Hernandez, son, Michael A. Hernandez and father, Oscar Hernandez. Oscar was born November 21, 1938 in Laredo, Texas where he attended school and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy. After graduating from school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp where he served his country as a marine for 3 years. After the service he went to Houston, Texas, where he met and married his wife Mary. In 1965, he moved to Conroe with his wife and two small sons. In Conroe, he went to work for the U.S. Post Office where he retired after 30 years of service. He also worked for Conroe Mobile Estates for 16 years. He is survived by his son, Oscar Hernandez III of Conroe, Texas, daughters, Arcelia M. Hernandez of Austin, Texas and Alma D. Rodriguez of Conroe, Texas. Grandsons, Oscar Hernandez IV, Jesse Wright and Max Hernandez of Conroe, Texas, daughter in law, Hope Hernandez, son in law, Mark Rodriguez both of Conroe, Texas, mother, Leonila Hernandez, brother Jose Hernandez and Javier Hernandez, sisters, Aurora Trevino, Elida Linder, Chema Hernandez and Veronica Hernandez. Lastly, his beloved dogs and companions Coco, Roxie and cat Kimberly. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10:00am at Cashner Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303, with burial to follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with rosary at 7:00pm at Cashner Colonial Chapel.
