Melvin Lee Schriener, 79, passed away April 23, 2014, in Conroe, Texas. He was born September 9, 1936, in Elcho, Wisconsin to Joseph and Hazel Buell Schriener. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. Melvin served his country as a Sergeant, in the United States Army seeing action in Korea and Vietnam from the years 1955 until 1976. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hilda Buell Schriener, two wives, Kathleen and Nadine, son Philip Howard and four grandchildren. He is survived by daughters, Gail Marie Schriener of Middletown, New York and Janice Green Todd and husband Raymond, of Missouri; sons, Frank Bird of Conroe, Texas and Dennis Baker and wife Angie, of Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a dear friend Dennis Murray. Many other relatives and and a host of friends also survive. The family will receive friends, during a visitation, on Tuesday April 29, 2014, from the hours of 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in Cashner Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77304, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ray Hyden serving as officiant.
