Maria Elia Escalante, 76 of Conroe passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was born March 2, 1946 in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. She grew up in Arizona and moved to California as a young adult and then to Texas in 2004. Elia loved her family and was a faithful servant to our Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending church.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband Raul N. Escalante, parents Lorenzo Martinez and Maria Luisa Sanchez and brother Pedro Martinez. She is survived by her sons Raul M. Escalante, Jr., Steven M. Escalante and wife Yesenia, and Richard M. Escalante and wife Jazmine, grandchildren Brianna Escalante, Steven D. Escalante, Jr., Joshua Escalante, Nathanael Escalante, Christopher Escalante, and Serena Escalante, and brother Gerardo Martinez and wife Kathy and sister Norma Thompson.
