Lesley Anne Murphy

On July 11, 2024, surrounded by loved ones, Lesley Anne Murphy peacefully passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed and remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. She leaves behind her loving family, Joseph, Jeffrey, Kathleen, and her extended family and friends, who will forever cherish her memory.

Lesley was born to Hazel and David Meintjes in Durban, South Africa, on April 17, 1959. Her childhood consisted of laughter, love, and joy amongst her six siblings, Tony, Russell, Charlie, Arlene, Glynnis, and Sandra.

In 1989, she met her partner for life in Port Jefferson, New York. Lesley and Joseph Murphy happily married in 1993. Their greatest joy came with the arrival of their two children, Jeffrey and Kathleen.

Lesley, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and red wine enthusiast was known for her wittiness and contagious laugh, but above all, she was admired for her deep devotion to her family. Beyond her family life, her favorite pastimes were reading, cooking, traveling, and caring for her precious dog, Penny.

Throughout her battle with cancer, she faced each day with remarkable strength and positivity. She remained a pillar of strength for her family and friends, despite the hardships and pain.

Lesley’s light may have dimmed here on Earth, but her spirit shines brightly in the heavens above, where she will continue to watch over her loved ones with eternal love and grace. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a profound impact on us all.

A visitation with rosary for Lesley will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N Frazier St, Conroe, TX 77301.
