Kenneth ‘Ken’ Wayne Maddox, born on March 17, 1947, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Raised by Carl Vincent Maddox and Mary Roane Maddox, Ken learned the importance of faith and education from his mother and cherished moments outdoors with his father. After Mary’s passing, Carl married Eunice Mobley (Maddox) and she became a treasured second mother to him.
Ken graduated from the University of Houston with BBA and MS degrees, becoming a certified public accountant and a lifetime Cougar sports fan and supporter. Ken proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve and achieved Specialist 5 rank. His career spanned Ernst and Young and NCI Building Systems, where he retired as Executive Vice President in 2008, having led numerous acquisitions and expansions.
In 1996, Ken met his wife, best friend, and love of his life, Lori. She taught him to love, enjoy family and experience life to the fullest. They ended each day with "I Love You". Together they founded Twin Lakes Angus and Maddox Whitetail Ranches. They spent many hours together hunting and fishing across Canada, Alaska, Central America, Mexico and their own special Twin Lakes. They enjoyed their retirement years between Fairfield and Conroe where they developed friendships that will always be treasured.
Ken’s brother Barry was someone he could always rely on. They spent countless hours together working, hunting, fishing, and being brothers. Eunice's children Lynn, Dennis and Linda Mobley were an integral part of his extended family, bringing unity and closeness.
Ken loved his children Matthew, Robert ‘Scott’, and Krystal, taking pride in their individuality and achievements. The grandkids Hunter, Carlee, and Maddox were special to Ken and added to his enjoyment of life. Some of Ken’s fondest memories were made with his family, whether on the ranch or during their travels.
He will be fondly remembered for his love of the outdoors and dedication to his family.
Ken is survived by his wife, Lori Penner Maddox; his siblings, Barry Maddox (wife Linda), Linda Snyder (husband David), Lynn Mobley (wife Judy), Dennis Mobley (wife Denise); his children, Matthew Maddox (wife Miranda), Robert Maddox (wife Shannon), Krystal Delph (husband Josh), and Tamara Peters (husband Dwayne); and his grandchildren, Hunter Maddox, Carlee Maddox, and Maddox Delph.
