She grew up in Colorado and had three brothers - Paul Russ Jr, Larry Russ, and Michael Russ. After moving to Houston, she met the love of her life, Robert Weldon Wilson. They had one son, Scott Robert Wilson. She survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews in addition to her immediate family.
Kathy received her Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and MD from University of Colorado Medical School. She did her residency in developmental pediatrics. She worked at Harris County MHMR 10 years, Tri County MHMR 18 years, and Texas Children’s Hospital in the Meyer developmental center 9-1/2 years. She was a tireless advocate of children that might have been delayed in learning. She retired at 71.
Kathy has been a Christian since April of 1970 and has been active in several churches over her lifetime. Recently she was a member of Northside Baptist Church. She loved reading the bible and talking to others about the Lord. She was also in several church choirs and had a beautiful voice, often saying she was a sinner saved by God’s grace. She was in many bible studies and her church family was very important to her. She loved Christmas so much she forbid the Christmas tree from being taken down.
Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister. She had a face like a beautiful flower. She was smart enough to get through medical school and pretty enough to be a Colorado State University cheerleader. She will be greatly missed.
John 11:25 - Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
These bible verses speak of everlasting life that is available to believers in Christ. Kathy was a believer in Christ, and we know she is in heaven.
A Celebration of Life event will be held at Northside Baptist Church in Conroe on July 12, 2022 at 6pm.
