Kathleen Lewis Fowler passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023, at the age of 63. She was born to the late Mr. Duane and Dr. Maria Lewis in Buffalo, New York on July 5, 1960. Kathleen will be remembered for her loyalty, adventurous spirit, never-ending curiosity, and the way she lifted up those around her.
Kathleen grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia, where she attended an all-girls Catholic high school before going onto higher education at Vassar College. After graduating with a degree in English, she headed out West to Colorado, where she began to put down roots. A woman of many trades, she worked as a school teacher, a business owner, and climbed the corporate ladder to become the Vice President of Purchasing for a major food manufacturer, all while raising her two daughters—Caroline and Kaitlyn.
After meeting the love of her life, Jabe Fowler, in 2002 she gained two more daughters—Whitney and Peeper. From then on, Jabe and Kathleen built a life together in Morrison, Colorado. Kathleen was happiest outdoors, whether she was hiking with her dogs, riding her horses, or watching sunsets from her porch swing. Never one to stay in one place for long, Kathleen and Jabe eventually decided to sell their home and travel the country in a fifth wheel. Their travels took them everywhere, from rural Montana to the panhandle of Florida. After years on the road they decided to settle down in Jabe’s home town of Willis, Texas, where they built their dream home together.
Kathleen Lewis Fowler is survived by her husband, Jabe T. Fowler; daughters, Caroline Maher (Fergus) and Kaitlyn Krzyzaniak (Tyler), and grandson, Carter; daughter, Whitney Campbell (Nick), and grandchildren, Luke, Hope, and Adah; daughter, Peeper Graham (Garrett), and grandchildren, Evie Ann and James Rockett; brother, Daniel Lewis (Leonora); sister, Bridget Lewis (Krista), and nephew, Alec (Heather), and great-nephew, Logan, and great-niece, Hadley; nephew, Devin, and niece, Perri, all of whom will miss her dearly.
