Texas, left this earth to be with Jesus after decades of tenaciously living with
chronic illness. Kari was born in Conroe, Texas, on August 19, 1972, to Lonnie
and Nila Williams of Conroe, and died at Houston's Medical Center on October
30, 2022. She is preceded in death by her mother, Nila Williams.
Visitation for friends is scheduled for November 7, 2022, from 5:00 -7:00 PM.
Celebration of Life service is on November 8, 2022, at 2:00 PM. Both at
Cashner's Funeral Home in Conroe.
She is survived by her son, Kolby Dax Byer. Though her only child, Kari became
a mother to many other sons and daughters, whether local kids or foreign
exchange students.
Her business was people. She was brilliant at organizing several local churches'
large children and youth events. She was an early supporter of Compassion
United and cherished being the hands and feet of Jesus as often as she could on
behalf of the homeless. Kari worked tirelessly in the foster care and hospice
industries, and much of her work life was spent serving in administration
capacities at First Baptist, The Woodlands, The Ark, and Lone Star Cowboy
Church.
Kari is also survived by a loving father, Lonnie Williams, and siblings Larry
Williams (Pam) of McKinney, Texas, and Sherri Williams of Conroe, Texas.
She had the most fun with her niece and nephews. Aaron Williams (Marissa) of
Prosper, Texas, Ian Bauerle (Gloria) of Spring, Texas, Caleb Williams of Dallas,
Texas, Andrew Bauerle of Conroe, Texas, Sarah Calkins of San Marcos, Texas,
Carly Byer of Austin, Texas, Lauren Williams Durbin (Matt) of Wylie, Texas, and
Candice Byer of Austin, Texas. Also surviving are great nephew Asher Williams
(son of Aaron and Marissa) and great niece Miriam Bauerle (daughter of Ian and
Gloria).
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Kari's best friend,
Donnie Welker of Groveton, Texas, for her tireless support to Kari, especially
over the last three years. Kari will be missed by her many cousins and other
relatives she has stayed close with because she loved people.
Kari left this Earth for her home prepared for her by Jesus himself and is enjoying
a new life with her preceding family members and friends. She is running through
the fields of gold with her Savior. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cashnerconroe.com for the Byer family.
