Joyce Kimbell Brannon, died May 11th 2011 at home surrounded by family, Born February 24th 1922 in Houston. The daughter of Lamar & Stella Kimbell, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Louise Kimbell Buhler, her husband, Ted C. Brannon, her son, William (Billy) Brannon and her grandson, Lee Edwards. She graduated from Lamar High School and Rice University in Houston. She married Ted on August 24, 1943. Moved to Raymondville Texas in 1950 where she and Ted started their gasoline distribution business with Gulf Oil. Moved to Conroe in 1955 where she and her husband continued their business with Gulf Oil Corp and later with Chevron and Citgo. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe where she was a charter member of the Catholic Daughter Court #1884. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi, a charter member of Panorama Country Club and a charter member of Sacred Heart P.T.O. Survivors include 3 sons, Chuck Brannon & wife Mary, Bob Brannon and wife Debbie, Steve Brannon and wife Tami, Daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Malak and husband Thomas of New Waverly, TX. Three Grandson’s Robert Brannon and wife Hollie, Billy Brannon and fiancé Lana Diediker, Layne Brannon, one Granddaughter, Jennifer Edwards and fiancé Michael Klein one great-grandson Owen Brannon, six step-grandchildren Regan and Courtney Conley, April & Michael Traweek and family, Jayson Malak, Adam Rickenbacker, Heather Rickenbacker and daughter Lexi, one niece Sally Yancy and Children of Austin Texas. Visitation will be May 15th 2011 from 5-8pm at Metcalf Funeral Home. Rosary will be May 15th 2011 from 7-8pm at Metcalf Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on May 16th 2011 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in Conroe. Burial will be in Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe. Pallbearers will be Andy Walker, Jack Grimm, Greg Clark, Johnny Cochran, Robert Brannon, Billy Brannon, Jayson Malak, Mike Klein. Honorary Pallbearers are Layne Brannon, Ray Bullock, Wally Wilkerson, Joe Simpson, Ralph Noble, Michael Higgins, Milton Westbrook, Aubrey Westbrook.
