Johnny is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Edna LaNetta Gregory.
He is survived by his sons: William Gregory and wife Sarah of Conroe, TX, James Gregory and wife Sherrie of Cut n Shoot, TX. Daughters: LaNetta Bass and husband Steve of Trinity, TX and Tina King and husband Sammy of Ratcliff, TX. Grandchildren: Leisa Edwards, Jonathan and Tammy Coppler, Billy and Tina Graves, Jamie and Billy Kain, DeeDee Gregory, Mandie and Dewayne Taylor, Harlie Gregory, Melissa Bass, Kristina and Randy Schanfish, Steven Bass, Jordan Bass, and Raymond, Ashley, Johnny Ray, and Starr Pennington. Great grandchildren: Daniel, Rachel, Ricky, Perrin, Katie, Jon, Cecila, Paeton, Michael, Randy, Craig, Matthew, Cody, Lyanne, Haley, Drake, Drew, Kayden, Kambryn, Piper, Braxton, Shawn, Wyatt, Tyler, Devon, and Andrew. Great-great grandchildren: Kadence, Jonathan, Jr., Emma, and Joel. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends are also left to cherish his memory.
A Visitation will be held at Metcalf Funeral Directors Friday, August 31, 2018 from 5pm-8pm. A Funeral Service for Johnny will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jim Golden officiating. An interment will occur at Freeman Cemetery, Conroe, Texas at 1:00pm. Serving as pallbearers are James Gregory, William Gregory, Steve Bass, Steven Bass, Raymond Pennington, Johnny Ray Pennington, Jonathan Coppler, and Tyrone Beeson. Sammy King and Jon A. Coppler are Honorable Pallbearers.
