John Robert Linton was born in Carlisle, Texas on January 7, 1934 to John Milton Linton and Lola Allen Linton and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 3, 2018. John was a Korean War Veteran and served at Andrews Air Force Base. John was an ordained minister and Deacon and commissioned by the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board and was an avid Bible teacher. He retired from Quintana Petroleum after years of service. John loved to spend time with his family and on occasion spent a little time restoring his beautiful antique automobiles. John is preceded in death by his parents John Milton and Lola Allen Linton, and his brothers, Jim Linton and baby boy Linton. John was a loving father and husband, he leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Althea Faye Gore Linton, daughter, Deborah Ann and husband, John Chancellor, daughter, Susan Elaine and husband, Keith Roberts, and son, John Robert Linton, Jr., grandchildren, Marissa, Michael, Andy, Meagan, Kati, and Sarah, 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, Mirl Gore and wife Loraine, sister-in-law, Dana Gore Fetsko and husband, Joe , and brother-in-law, George Glass and wife Cindy. Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at Second Baptist Church in Huntsville at 11:00 a.m. on February 8th. Interment will follow in the Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe at 2:30 p.m., February 8th. Pallbearers will be John Robert Linton, Jr., John Chancellor, Keith Roberts, Michael Chancellor, Andy Traylor and Charles Ray.
