John Wayne Blair

John Wayne Blair was born June 17, 1935 in Conroe, Texas to Woodman and Effie Blair and passed away on February 1, 2012 at his home in Montgomery, Texas. He began working at the age of 16 at Weingarten’s and retired from there after 25 years. John then opened up multiple Blair’s Supermarkets in the local area and operated them for 25 plus years. He was a past president of the Retail Grocer’s Association and was also on the board of directors until his passing. John was an avid world-wide hunter and fisherman. He was also very dedicated to donating to many charities. John was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Doneske. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Blair of Montgomery; daughters, Celia Blair of Devine and Holly Deverts and husband Vernon of Montgomery; son, Clint Blair and wife Diane of Montgomery; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Entombment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery’s Chapel in the Park Mausoleum. Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
