Joe Richard “Dickie” Chandler passed away at the young age of 80 years and one day. Born in Fort Worth, Texas on November 20, 1944 to Hoyt Clyde Chandler, Jr. and Bobbie Dee Chandler, and passed away surrounded by family and friends on November 21, 2024.
Dickie wore many hats in his life, first and foremost, he was a loving husband to his wife Sharon of 50 years, and a father to his 3 children. Dickie started working in banking at a young age and then served in the National Guard before following his dad into the Rubber Lining business. Eventually opening a successful rubber lining business of his own.
Dickie was known for his smile and trademark laugh. He was a very giving man and would give his shirt to help anyone in need. Dickie was an active member in his church and was a follower of Jesus Christ.
Dickie loved to be active by playing golf, bowling and dancing with his wife.
Dickie was also an avid Poker player and loved traveling on the senior World Poker Tour.
He is preceded in death by his parents H.C. Chandler and Bobbie, his wife Sharon of 50 years and daughter Christine Chandler Cole.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie Merdian and husband Martin. Son Richard Chandler and wife Starr. Grandchildren are Morgan Romero and husband Mike. Kelsey Poole and husband Jordan. Austin Merdian, Emily Seiter and husband Cole, and Charlotte Merdian. Andy Chandler and wife Camila, Blake Chandler, Payton Chandler and Lejla Stojkovic.
Great grandchildren are Isaiah Mendoza, Logan Romero, Ayden Mendoza, Leighton Romero and Grayson Romero. Tatum and Tyler Warren and Blakely Poole. Penny Seiter, Karson Chandler and Remi Chandler.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bruce Henneke, Cole Seiter, Martin Merdian, Andy Chandler, Blake Chandler and John Sonsel.
Dickie had a rare form of Dementia called Progressive Super-nuclear Palsy, in lieu of flowers please donate to any Dementia or Alzheimer’s research
