Barbara Jean Nantz Martin was born June 15th, 1937, in Port Arthur Texas. She was the second of four children born to Harley and Sybil Nantz and was called home to be with our Lord in heaven in the morning hours of April 5, 2018, at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jerry L. Martin. She is survived by her four children, Gary Martin of Llano Texas and wife Stacy, Alan Martin of Ft. White Florida and wife Sandra, Phyllis Martin Rowley and husband Tom of Conroe Texas and Debra L. Martin of Ft. White Florida. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Jean as she was known by all was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and for the past 20+ years, her home church was the Rabon Chapel Church of Christ, Montgomery Texas. She was a loving mother who cared deeply for her family and will be missed a great deal. The surviving adult members of the family and all their children knew her for her kind faith based character that formed lasting memories and impressions that will forever be remembered by all. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the owner and staff of Harmony for Assisted Living of Conroe Texas and Bethel Hospice of Houston Texas for their undivided attention and care given to Jean and her family. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 10th beginning at 3 PM at the Cashner Funeral Home, Conroe,Texas, with Minister Daniel Dominguez officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Gary Martin, Travis Martin, Mason Martin, Kirk Martin, Joshua Jones and Josef Valigura. In lieu of flowers and other offerings of comfort and sympathy, the family is asking that an offering be made in Jean’s memory to the Rabon Chapel Church of Christ, Montgomery Texas 77316.
