James (aka Jim or Jimmy) was a man of great conviction. A graduate of Gore, Oklahoma, High School, Jimmy was a talented basketball player, a center at 5’-11”. In his teen’s, he loved his motorcycles, having had two Indians and a Harley. Then he met Phyllis, they married, settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and had their only son, Steve. Jim loved to water ski and the family spent weekends at the lake. After raising and getting Steve through college, Jim became a bachelor and later caught the eye of Loeta (Nanny) Tracy, who, after a long courtship and a role as his office manager, became his second wife. After Nanny’s passing in 2013, Jim’s focus was on his family and continuing to run his business.
Professionally, Jim was a born salesman. His career began in commercial sales which led him ultimately to the medical electronics industry. After a successful engagement with Medco Inc. in Tulsa and Chicago, he became enchanted with Auricular Therapy (for pain management) and started his own business developing, building and selling his own line of Auricular Therapy equipment. He became an Auricular Therapy specialist, traveling internationally to study and present, and was well known and respected among his peers. He was awarded an honorary PhD from the College of Physiotherapy, Sequoia University, was a founding officer of the Auriculotherapy Certification Institute and received the Logan Alumni Distinguished Service Award from the Logan College of Chiropractic. Socially, Jim was a practical joker and comedian who commanded center stage at many informal gatherings. He loved to entertain and became very proficient at slight-of-hand and amateur magic. Jim was passionate about his family and will be missed by all that knew him.
