James Michael Nitschke, “Jim”, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Jim was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Katy, Texas. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Lillie Nitschke, and sister, Elaine Nitschke. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 41 years, Lisa Nitschke, son Kyle and his wife Jennie, along with his two granddaughters Grace and Abigail. He is also survived by his brother & sister-in-law Bubba and Sherry McCrorey, and brother in law Jimmy Woods, along with numerous nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews.
Jim settled in the Conroe area in 1976 and went on his first date with his wife, Lisa, in May of 1982. They met at the feed store, dated for 7 months, got married December 17, 1982 and never looked back. They lived a lot of life together in their 41 years of marriage and in 1992 they received their greatest blessing in their son, Kyle.
Jim was an outside sales representative for a dry cleaning supply company for over 40 years. He spent his days driving and making friends along the way. Jim enjoyed classic cars, watching car auctions (as well as Gunsmoke) and spent many weekends on the lake with Kyle fishing in bass tournaments when he was too young to drive.
Jim retired in 2017 and spent the last several years taking care of his land on the tractor, going on hunting trips with Kyle, taking trips to the lake house, and more recently, being wrapped around his granddaughters’ little fingers. Jim may be gone from us now, but we know that he is now at peace and whole in Heaven with the Lord.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at First Methodist Church in Conroe on June 14, 2024. There will be a visitation at 10:30am, followed by the service at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Methodist Day School for their playground improvement fund. Donations can be sent to: Methodist Day School, 4308 W. Davis Street, Conroe, TX 77304.
