Jamelle was born on May 27, 1934 in Abilene, Texas to parents Era Exa Watson and Carson Overton Nuckols. She attended Abilene High school where she met her husband, Lewis Williams. Shortly after being wed, Lewis was called up to active duty. This was the start of a beautiful and adventurous life. 32 years as a Petroleum Engineer’s wife and mother of 3, she settled into the Walden community after retirement. Lewis and Jamelle were married for 66 years. Jamelle was a very active member in the community. Initially she was active with the Walden Community Church before becoming active in the West Conroe Baptist Church. Along the way, she won Woman of the Year for the Lady’s Association of Walden, while volunteering continuously with Assistance League of Montgomery County and also finding the time to help with Bethlehem City. She was an avid 42 domino and bridge player and prided herself in being in every Walden Fourth of July Parade and winning many trophies. Along with all these accomplishments, she managed to forge many relationships with neighbors and friends.
She is survived by two children, Jan Williams and Bryan Williams and wife Pippa, son-n-law David Vowels, 5 surviving grandchildren, Jordan, Victoria, Madeline, Max and Abby and many cousins and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis, daughter Brenda Vowels and grandson Shawn Michael Vowels and brother Bob Nuckols.
In lieu of flowers the family asks tributes to go to West Conroe Baptist Church Building Fund or M.D. Anderson Cancer Research.
