Jack Lyndon Crockett

Jack Lyndon Crockett, 98, entered eternal rest with his Lord on January 3, 2015. Jack was born in North Zulch, Texas on April 17, 1916. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Irene “Renee” Lawhon Crockett. Jack is survived by his son, Howard Lawhon Crockett and wife, Carol of Conroe; granddaughter, Jennifer Crockett Smith and husband, Jamison of Katy, Texas; grandsons, Jonathan Michael Crockett and wife, Robin, of Bristow, Virginia and Justin Gillett Crockett and wife, Emilie, of Houston, Texas. He is survived by 5 great-grandchildren; Grayson, Hope and Michaela Smith and Chance and Carson Crockett. Jack served in the US Navy during WWII. After the war he worked for Dow Chemical Company in Freeport, Texas and owned Crockett Hardware Store. While in Freeport Jack was a founder of the Freeport Fishing Fiesta. In 1954 he moved to Houston, Texas where he became a sales representative for Napco Paint Company and relocated to Dallas in 1963 as a district sales manager. Jack and Renee retired to Houston. He enjoyed golfing, cooking (Cajun), reading, collecting cookbooks and gardening. One of the highlights of his life was hunting with his son and grandsons. Jack recently received his 70 year pin for being a Master Mason. Services will be held at Metcalf Funeral Directors Friday, January 9 at 10:00 am with visitation before and immediately following. Interment will follow in Angelton, Tx. at 1 pm. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Crockett, Justin Crockett, Mike Gillett, Jamison Smith, Jack Neagle and Don Brewer. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Elmcroft of Rivershire, the nursing staff of 2 North Conroe Regional Hospital, Marlynn of Pathfinder and Heart to Heart Hospice.
