Gary Wayne Rascoe, 58, was born July 11, 1962 and passed away on April 28, 2021. Gary was raised in Cut n' Shoot, Texas and graduated from Conroe High School in 1980 where he played on the mighty 1979-1980 Conroe High School Tiger Football team. He went on to continue his education at Sam Houston State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. While at SHSU, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and the beau of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. A special Alpha Chi Omega caught his eye, and that budding romance blossomed into the greatest love of his life, his 35-year marriage to "TK".
Gary was a jack-of-all-trades, but his longest career was with Honeywell where he retired after 20+ years of dedicated work. His other notable careers included working for Continental Airlines, the United States Postal Service, and substitute teaching with special needs students.
Gary had many passions in life including hunting, fishing, boating on Lake Conroe, listening to music, watching TWHS softball, playing with his grandkids, and collecting baseball caps of every university attended by his girls: University of Houston, Sam Houston State University, and most recently Texas A&M University. He was an avid volunteer coach for many of his daughter's sports teams, from t-ball all the way to unofficial sideline coach for TWHS softball.
The most special attribute of Gary was his belief that he would never leave a friend in need, trouble, or stuck in the mud - literally. He was the best friend a man could have; he always had your back. At his home, you used the back door. His favorite song is "Find out Who Your Friend's Are" by Tracey Lawrence - a true testament to Gary’s core principle in life. We will remember that man.
Gary had many nicknames including, Diddy (Southern way of Daddy), Big G, Burger, G, Gary Wayne, Roscoe P Coltrane, Big Cat, main man, and most proudly Paw-Paw.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Paul Rascoe.
He is survived by his mother, Annette Rascoe Miller and her husband Dan Miller; wife, Terrie Barrett Rascoe; daughters, Sidney and her husband Jonathan Vance, Randi Rascoe and her fiancé Kristi Thornton, and Shelbie Rascoe; grandchildren, Harper Vance, Hazel Vance, and Cannon 'Little Man' Vance; sisters, Cynthia and her husband Carl Norum, and Paula and her husband Dennis Day.
Gary is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and an abundance of friends that span decades and communities far and wide.
Gary's family would like to send love and thank all those who loved him as much as they did.
