Neva Faye Powell passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 30, 2024. She grew up in New Castle, Indiana and moved to Conroe, Texas in the early eighties to be closer to her twin sister, Eva Sewell and her family. Faye and husband, Lewis Powell made their home in River Plantation. Faye loved the game of golf and enjoyed playing with her twin sister, Eva. Faye and Eva had a combined 16 hole-in-ones. Faye was a member of The First Baptist Church of Conroe for over 45 years, a member of the River Plantation Country Club and Bentwater Country Club.
Faye was preceded in death by her Husband, Lewis Powell, her mother, Mabel Catron Marcum, Sister and Brother-In-law, Eva and Carlos Sewell and Brother, James Catron. She is survived by her nephew, Todd Sewell, wife, Renei of Conroe, Texas and their children, Sydney Holliday, husband, Chad of Tyler, Texas and Chad Sewell of Conroe, Texas. Also, two great- great nephews, Harrison and Henry Holliday survive her.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 2:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas to celebrate her life. Graveside services will be held at a later date at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana. The family would like to thank Houston Methodist, The Woodlands, Village Green Assisted Living and Hope Beyond Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Faye. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to The American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
