Eloise E. Garrett was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Texas. Eloise was born on August 21, 1921 in Richards, Montgomery County, Texas to George Milner Watson and Annie Beatrice Taylor Watson. She went to be with her Lord on December 25, 2023 at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe, Texas.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Dr. Robert M. Garrett. They shared 56 years of love before his death on April 13, 2000. She was also preceded in death by 6 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her son Dana Garrett and wife Linda of Conroe, Texas, daughter Pamela Arthur of Conroe, Texas, Grandchildren, Christopher Garrett of The Woodlands, Texas, Kim James and husband Derek of Spring, Texas, Ryan Arthur and wife Laura of Lake Jackson, Texas, Jason Tilton of Ft. Worth, Texas, Alsena Martin and husband Robert of Conroe, Texas, and Kevin Garrett of Conroe, Texas.
She was also survived by her Great Grandchildren, Lindsey Gibson and husband Jacob, Garrett Arthur, Avery Arthur, Tyler James, Katie Harris and husband Hunter, Lauren James, Kallie Tilton and Taylor Tilton, and great great grandson, Theodore Gibson. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends who were all very special to her.
Eloise graduated from Richards High School. She attended Blinn Business School and in order to compete with her children and grandchildren who had received their college degrees she obtained her broker's license in real estate. She worked with Roy Harris for a few years before starting her own real estate business. Before that time she worked with her husband, Dr. Robert M. Garrett, in his veterinary practice for many years doing everything from office management to assisting with surgeries In spite of helping him and raising two children she was a Girl Scout leader, bible class teacher, and President of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association Women's Auxiliary. Before she accomplished all of these things and more, she served as a Volunteer Fireman in Montgomery County during World War ll. One of her joys in life was reading the bible which she completed numerous times. During the last few years she really enjoyed painting crosses which she shared with everyone who came around. She loved explaining how the blue represented the blue sky, the green represented the grass God created, and the red represented the blood shed by Jesus on the cross.
A visitation for Eloise will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. An interment will occur Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Garden Park Cemetery, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303.
