On April 8, 2022, Edward Alan Willingham, formerly of McAllen, passed peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Montgomery, TX, at the age of 71, after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer.
Alan was born in La Porte, TX to Betty Anne Willingham and Moses Marvin Willingham.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina Yvette Willingham; parents, Betty Anne and Moses Marvin Willingham; Sister, Pauline Fabbri.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Laura (Anzaldua) Willingham, of 34 years of marriage and fur baby “Chelsea”.
Siblings: Timothy Willingham of Bryan, TX; Andy (Margaret) Willingham of Buda, TX; Twana (Danny) Kitzman of Montgomery, TX; Tj (Rikke) Willingham of Sandpoint, ID, Brother in law, Ore (Pauline+) Fabbri.
Alan retired in 2011 from the city of McAllen after 33 years of service. His first two years were as a firefighter with the city of McAllen and the remaining years were as a Police Officer where he served and grew in many capacities within the Police Dept.
Alan was an avid sports fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros and the San Antonio Spurs, win or lose he enjoyed watching all the games in his sports room along with other sports programs.
Alan was a proud past member of the Blue Knights Texas II Chapter Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, enjoying all the rides in the Hill Country with Laura and other members of the group.
He will truly be missed by many Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and extended family.
Special thanks to our dear neighbors who Alan considered family, they all took the time to visit and check on his well-being over the years.
As per Alan’s wishes, there will be no services and he chose to be cremated.
