Dorothy Delphine Trego was born June 28, 1951 in Pueblo, Colorado, and passed away on July 2, 2016 in Conroe, Texas. Dorothy grew up on a family cattle ranch in Tinaja in northeastern New Mexico. After graduation, she moved to Houston and began employment with M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and began a lifetime career as a first-rate Radiology Technician, first at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and later at private medical practices in Houston, and most recently at Center for Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in Conroe, Texas. She was a dream employee, highly skilled, knowledgeable, competent, rarely missed work, and was always professional. Dorothy was an animal lover who fed the deer, not just corn, but special deer chow on her property, put water out for the turtles, fed the birds, cared for the various stray cats that adopted her, and she doted on Diego, the family Schnauzer. She was a naturally talented gardener who created incredible spaces with jaw-dropping plantings that flourished under her care. She loved watching HGTV, and her own home could have been featured, as she had impeccable taste and loved decorating. Dorothy was a remarkable woman with an indomitable will, enormous intelligence and bright spirit. Her courage and bravery were incredible. She was generous and beautiful, strong and independent. She is survived by John Trego who was her greatest love, her best friend, her constant companion. They had 30 years together and were rarely separated. Her father, Mike Apodaca, preceded her in death, and she is survived by her loving mother, Nora B. Apodaca of Conroe, TX. She will be greatly missed by her family who loved her dearly. She is survived by her sister, Diane Arguello of Vista, CA; sister, Joan Martin and brother-in-law Richard Martin of Montgomery, TX; brother, Mike Apodaca, and Cynthia Varela of Conroe, TX; brother, Mario Apodaca and sister-in-law Toni Apodaca of Centerville, TX; and brother, Dan Apodaca of Santa Fe, NM.
