Donald G. Martin (Don) of Conroe, Texas, ran into his Father's arms on October 20, 2022, at the age of 74. He was surrounded by family who knew he fought hard to stay for them while also letting them know he wanted to go Home.
Don loved hunting, fishing, floating on the Frio River, and being outdoors. However, those were secondary to his love for his five children, their spouses, his beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Most of all, he loved his sweetheart of 54 years, Debbie.
He worked hard all his life to provide for his family. After his retirement, his life mission was to share God's love with everyone he met, including all the hospital staff who cared for him in his final days.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Edith Martin; his brother Frank Martin, his sisters, Shirley Lewis and Patsy Eggert; and grandchildren, Maci Anne Morte and Kade Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; and children, Donale and Todd Morte, Dawn and Clint Elliott, Dyan and Curt Stripling, David and Kim Martin, and Dwight and Tandy Martin; his grandchildren, Brett and Destynee Morte, Garrett and Haley Morte, Mason and Rachael Elliott, Ethan and Emma Morte, Colton Elliott, Mallori Morte, Caleb Elliott, Amy Elliott, Daylen Martin, Jonathan Martin, Tanner Martin, Cayce Stripling, Rylee Martin, Lincoln Martin, Coleman Martin; and great-grandchildren, Granger Morte and Nash Morte.
The family asks for any donations to go to God's Garage or Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
A memorial visitation for Donald will be held Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. A celebration of life will occur Monday, October 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Conroe Church of Christ, 1860 Longmire Road, Conroe, Texas 77304.
